“Join us downstairs”: this is the claim of The Attico’s Winter 2022 collection, that ironically overturns the classic “Join us upstairs” that marked the made in Italy brand since its debut in 2016.
The collection marks a new beginning point for The Attico: the exploration of new grounds and new ways of being, while still mantaining their signature style. The typical duality of the brand is, indeed, always present, thanks to the combination of a strongly feminine trait, mixed with a more streetwear and masculine one.
“One thing we truly enjoy about fashion-making is how connected to the variety of our feelings it is, and how much contradiction is a part and a fuel of it. Change is the law, multiplicity is good, about-turns are welcome”, Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini, founders and designers of the brand, write about the winter collection. No wonder the scenery is way different from the previous one: “Winter 2022, coming after fall which was all about or woman delving into a new, dare we say more realistic scenario, swings another way: towards a trippy, nighttime folie kind of escapism”.
The Attico’s energy pours into the contrast between loose volumes and skintight shapes, refined fabrics and soft cotton. Signature details, that made the brand so successful, are not missing as well: adjustable long strings, layered design, sequins and the iconic geometric heels.
The combinations create a perfect game of oppositions too. Tight t-shirt with padded shoulders are combined with multi pocket cargo trousers, while asymmetrical silk miniskirts are counterbalanced by oversized sweaters in soft alpaca wool.
The color palette goes from pink to light-blue, from dusty green to pale yellow, with bolder shades such as lime and pistache and without forgetting the timeless black on mini dresses, pumps and boots.
The Attico’s woman is like “an exotic animal, who flaunts her skin every so often, adjusting to her kaleidoscopic moods”: this is how the brand embraces change and reinvents itself, accomplishing the task – not easy at all – of renewing whilst still remaining true to itself.
