FASHION TRENDS: DENIM
Among the timeless classics that never go out of style, denim is definitely in the first place. Whatever its reinterpretation may be, the world’s most famous jeans fabric is always an evergreen, a real essential in everyone’s closet.
That’s why, year after year, brands love to reinterpret it according to their own style, creating garments and accessories that are suitable for the seasonal trends.
Denim is one of Saint Laurent’s most loved (and used) fabrics. The French maison’s trend for Spring/Summer 2022 involves total denim looks. The single-breasted jacket with visible stitching finds its counterpart in the matching straight-leg trousers. Shoes are no less. From Nu Pieds Tribute 05 flat sandals we move on to the stiletto heel of La 16 mules: both of them in a rigorous blue denim, of course.
Bottega Veneta goes for a classic dark blue denim, combining it with its iconic Parakeet green stitching. For women, the outfit consists in a regular cut shirt and a pair of five-pocket design straight jeans, interpreted in a bermuda shorts version for men. Lines are straight and essential, while keeping a casual allure.
On another hand, Max Mara stakes everything on the Monogram. Using a denim-effect cotton drill, it presents a skirt, a pair of bermuda shorts and a jacket with the signature jacquard white monogram. In this way, the brand’s rigorous style is dampened by the all-over print, which gives a playful note to the clothes.
Patchwork and bags
Among the other declinations that denim took for this season, we can’t help but mention patchwork. Dolce & Gabbana’s pumps remind in every way a pair of blue jeans, while Loewe’s suede jacket features overlapping pannels with a geometric design. Bags embrace the trend too: it’s the case with Stella McCartney, who offers a total blue denim version of her classic Stella Logo. On the other hand, Tory Burch revisits its Kira bag with visible stitching and matelassé quilting.
