7 MONCLER FRGMT

7 designers for 7 different versions of the iconic Maya down jacket. That’s how, for its 70th anniversary, Moncler decided to pay homage to one of its oldest models, born in the Fifties and very popular amongst the brand’s fans still today. The Maya 70 Collaborations see seven designers who were part of Moncler history as protagonists, each of which – thanks to their unique stylistic vision – realized their own reinterpretation of the Maya jacket.

7 MONCLER FRAGMENT - Collection by Hiroshi Fujiwara

Among the names chosen by Moncler there is also Hiroshi Fujiwara, founder of Fragment, who gave life to the 7 MONCLER FRGMT capsule collection. That of Fujiwara is an approach to design based on neat shapes, graphic colors and subtle details, that largely draws from the popular culture. Within Moncler, the Japanese designer’s straightforward tone is translated into a new interpretation of some iconic pieces: not only the Maya jacket, but also t-shirtshoodies and accessories. Fujiwara manages to merge functional design and technical expertise in apparently normal pieces that are actually full of hidden meanings.

The collection takes inspiration from sports, in both the shapes and the graphic elements. The chromatic palette stays between black and white, with color touches – such as red and green – every now and then. The FRGMT lettering marks every piece, firmly defining its identity. The accessories range from crossbody bags in nylon ripstop to tricot wool beanies and hiking shoes. 7 MONCLER FRGMT aims to be part of daily lives, at once essential and unexpected.
