The history of Lanvin begins in 1889 in Paris, when Jeanne Lanvin, at the age of 22, decided to open her first hat shop in 16 Rue Boissy d'Anglas. Success was almost instantaneous, so much so that over the following decades Lanvin also expanded to clothing, first for women and then for men. Today Lanvin is part of the Chinese Fosun International group.
