Dior and Parley for the Oceans renew their collaboration for the third year in a row, giving life to a beachwear capsule collection that reflects the commitment of both for a more sustainable fashion. Parley for the Oceans, a non-profit environmental organization committed to protecting the oceans, has always had the development of concrete strategies and solutions through creative collaborations as its goal, while Dior is committed to protecting natural resources through the Dream in Green program.

I’m proud to be part of the desire of the house to move to a more sustainable fashion. Nature is something important to me as it was for Monsieur Dior” said Kim Jones, creative director of Dior menswear. “The collection mixes style and functionality, making it very desirable for consumers”.

The collaboration, which combines a classic aesthetic to the sartorial spirit of the Maison, involves the use of innovative materials such as Parley Ocean Plastic, made from marine plastic debris. The chromatic palette is inspired by the beauty of the marine universe with clothing items that go from aqua green to the shades of blue, accompanied by the hues of white and grey. Among the most recognizable details we find the Coral print and the Italic graphic, as well as, of course, the Dior Oblique motif that embellishes shirts, t-shirts, shorts and hats.

A large part of what we do at Parley is to intercept plastic from nature. We collect all these waste materials and trasnform them, giving them a second life in luxury products. Together with Dior, now in our third year of collaboration, we have mastered the challenge of reworking hard-to-recycle plastics into elevated textiles” said Cyrill Gutsch, founder of Parley for the Oceans. “Fashion has the power to turn everything upside down and that is exactly what we are continuing to do with Dior – connecting what we know to innovate and change our current culture”.
